Aviation Software Engineer Jobs description
An aviation software engineer supports the development and modification of software aspects of advanced aircraft systems. Planning, conducting, and coordinating development of scientific computer programs forms one of the main duties of an aviation software engineer. Other responsibilities include handling documentation, including logic flow charts and block diagrams; providing advice and consultation on scientific/technical programming applications; handling projects and cost analysis; coordinating with computer operations staff; and solving software related problems.An aviation software engineer should have an undergraduate degree in science or engineering. Computer science degree in engineering, information systems, technical discipline, or related field may be considered a plus. An aviation software engineer usually has several years of software and/or aviation experience. Experience in analyzing and designing software, coding and debugging of assembler language (SPL or equivalent), data base management, C++, RISC 6000, and ADA, is also important for such positions.
