A&P Mechanic Jobs description
An A&P mechanic is responsible for heavy maintenance and repair work of commercial aircrafts as per Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Duties include assuring that all parts received from stock or manufactured have the proper identification. An A&P mechanic also works on modifying assigned aircrafts. An A&P mechanic also works on installing engines, thrust reverser assembly, hydraulic pumps, and connects various fuel, hydraulic, airlines, and electrical leads on the aircraft.An A&P mechanic should have a master's degree in science with aviations as the main subject. A&P mechanics are recruited both at entry-level as well as higher-level depending on the relevant skills and experience. An A&P mechanic must be able to interpret instructional material, schematics, and specifications for complex mechanical problems on assigned aircrafts. An A&P mechanic may also be required to fly onboard experimental aircrafts.
