Station Agent Jobs description
An airline station agent is responsible for promoting and selling air travel, preparing itineraries, computing fares, issuing refunds, preparing and issuing tickets, checking baggage, and collecting excess baggage charges in accordance with tariff rules. An airline station agent answers inquiries regarding general travel information and performs duties in the departure lounges or at boarding gates when enplaning and deplaning passengers. An airline station agent may also escort passengers from the terminal to and from aircraft ensuring a safe path at all times. An airline station agent may also be responsible for loading and unloading of cargo on and off an aircraft, and transporting cargo between terminals and aircrafts. An airline station agent is also known as manager or district operations manager.An airline station agent should have strong managerial skills and several years of experience in the aviation industry. Ticket agents, reservation agents, or passenger service agents may often get promoted to airline station agents.
