Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is hiring a Flight Test Engineer 4 for their facility in Patuxent River, MD. Duties for the EA-18G Flight Test Engineer 4 include but are not limited to:
Provide core team on site technical support (EA-1 and ACETEF) utilizing a Level of Effort methodology during the stated period of performance.
Coordinate at the Engineering level with Navy and Boeing to define and execute FOT&E test requirements
Maintain cognizant with the Bethpage System Integration Laboratory (SIL) and Baltimore Systems Integration Team operations to support FOT&E efforts
Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot anomalies
Coordinate implementation of corrections by Bethpage personnel
Attend aircrew briefing/de-briefing, and post flight requirements
Generate flight preparation inclusive of MPE generated mission cards associated with aircraft configurations
Review flight test data
Support short term detachments to China Lake
Provide on-site support for test operations of EA-18G Growler Aircraft at Patuxent River, MD. This effort also includes support for meetings, telecons, initial test planning,etc., to assist with the coordination of future EA-18G activities at NAWC-AD, Patuxent River
Primary CCS and MPE support. Responsible for the analysis of CCS performance and responding to issues related to CCS hardware and software operation. In addition this position is responsible for supporting the creation of mission cards as needed. During CCS test flights, the person may be required to monitor operations via telemetry. They will have a need to use the NGC laptop for AEA software and debug issues.
ALQ-218 and Data Analysis. Responsible for the analysis of ALQ-218 performance and responding to issues related to ALQ-218 hardware and software operations. In addition, this position is responsible for the overall data analysis tool used by the program office to gauge AEA performance. During ALQ-218 test flights, the person may be required to monitor operations via telemetry. They will have a need to use the NGC laptop for AEA software and debug issues.
On-aircraft Duties. Responsible for mechanical, electrical and RF lines for the pallet and wing tip pod. One of their primary functions are to assist troubleshooting of AEA WRA issues and facilitate WRA/SRA swaps. Additional responsibilities include the support equipment and NGC laptops that are used for debug and software troubleshooting.
On-site personnel may also be requested to support another aircraft deploying to Pax River for specific testing (i.e. if EA-18G, EA-2 travels to Pax for testing in the ACETEF chamber) or personnel may desire to cross train with other NGC engineers supporting F/A-18 E/F testing
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years of related experience to the job description; 7 years with a Master's Degree, 4 years with a PhD.
Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
Ability to work 1st and 2nd shift
