*Job Summary*** Maintains and supports A-10 aircraft under supervision. Assists with maintenance of systems based upon experience and qualifications. Work performed may be that of Aircraft, Avionics, Electrical/Environmental, Engine, or Weapons specialty.*Principal Accountabilities* * Assists with adjustment, repair, or replacement of aircraft systems and aircraft accessories, assists with preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, and performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft. * Opens/removes and closes/installs all aircraft panels and related system components. * Assists in the performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. * Complies with the requirements of the FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs. * Assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft and subsystems. * Operates ground support equipment and documents/reports discrepancies prior to use. * Performs tasks associated with ground movement of aircraft. * Completes all necessary manual and automated records required by USAF and Company directives. * Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required. * Performs other related duties as assigned. * *Special Conditions - *Must successfully complete all company and customer OJT task and training qualifications and perform satisfactorily as an aircraft worker in one of the applicable career paths. Upon successful completion of 90 days as an Aircraft Worker will be offered placement in the applicable Mechanic job classification based upon their experience and qualifications. Based upon duty performance and overall contract requirements may be offered a Mechanic position earlier than 90 days as an aircraft worker. This Mechanic position will be on the same shift as held during the time as an Aircraft Worker.*Knowledge & Skills* * A working knowledge of technical publications, maintenance directives and maintenance forms is required. * A working knowledge of jet aircraft systems and of the use of common aircraft hand tools and special tools is required. * A working knowledge of aircraft maintenance safety requirements and the operation of portable fire-fighting equipment are required. The ability to interpret and apply information on schematic diagrams, drawings and charts fault isolation and repair of assigned systems and system subassemblies is required.*Experience & Education* * Completion of high school or the equivalent is required. * Completion of specialized courses is desired. * The ability to read and write and to comprehend technical data is required. * Eighteen (18) months of general aircraft maintenance experience is required. * One (1) year experience in the past three (3) calendar years on A-10 aircraft is required. * Technicians who do not meet minimum experience requirements have 180 days from the date of hire to complete the corresponding 5-Level core tasks as listed in the Site Training Business Area Air Force Specialty Code Master Training Plan for assigned specialty.*Physical Requirements/Working Environment**Work Environment*: * May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside. * May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. * May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. * May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.*Physical Requirements*:*_Mandatory Conditions_* * Must be able to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs. * Stand for prolonged periods of time. * Have the ability to climb ladders and stairs. * Normal color vision is required. * Possession of a valid driver\u2019s license is necessary to obtain flight line driving privileges.**Job:** **Aviation / Support* **Title:** *A-10 Aircraft Worker - Avionics* **Location:** *UNITED STATES-ARIZONA-DAVIS MONTHAN AFB* **Requisition ID:** *1800670*
