This position description is covering the Avionics System and Safety Engineer\rworking in the Engineering department, at Safran Electronics & Defense,\rAvionics USA, LLC. The Engineering team has exciting opportunities for\rindividuals who want to bring technical leadership on complex programs, foster\rdeeper relationships with international and domestic customers, and be a part of\ran innovative and fast-paced avionics business area.\r\rSummary of Job\rPurpose:\rThis position is for an Avionics System and Safety Engineer\rresponsible for process, design, development, integration, and verification of\ravionics solutions for Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC\rcurrent and future products.\r\rWork in a highly collaborative environment\rwith the ability to learn from and influence multiple programs and domains\rregularly. Utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including synthesis of\rnew architectures that meld commercial and military functionality, systems\rengineering development best practices, debug and test in an integrated lab\renvironment, and providing written and verbal correspondence across multiple\rinternational boundaries/management levels/domains. \r\rEssential Duties and\rResponsibilities:\rProcess owner, at the Company level, of the following\raerospace recommended practices: \rARP4761, Guidelines and Methods for\rConducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and\rEquipment\rARP4754, Guidelines For Development Of Civil Aircraft and\rSystems\rContinually develop and improve practices and processes related to\rdevelopment, qualification and certification of airborne applications (FAA,\rEASA, CAAC, ANAC, etc…)\rContinually work to maintain compliance with DO-178\rand DO-254 and Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC standards and\rbest practices.\rDefine, plan, and develop operations requirements on the\rphysical processes, procedures, and support equipment necessary to support\rairborne and avionics safety and systems. \reParticipate to the Design of the\rcurrent and future products of Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA,\rLLC, under Type Certificate, STC, TSO and PMA.\rCreate and review the system\rand safety documents and deliverables.\rInterface with the customer on the\rsystem and safety aspect of the \rCreate and review flight and ground\revaluations and test plans.\r\rDivulging of confidential and/or sensitive\rinformation could lead to damage to the reputation and/or competitive posture of\rthe corporation.

Job Requirements
Successful candidate should have experience working successfully in highly\rcollaborative environments, demonstrate the ability to take ownership of tasks\rand lead efforts spanning multiple stakeholders, possess exceptional written and\roral communications skills, the ability to break down and execute on complex\rtasks with minimal instructions, and have a keen aptitude for technical work\rthat spans multiple levels of detail. An ideal candidate will also have\rsignificant experience working with avionics, a working knowledge of civil\rcertification such as DO-178, DO-254, ARP4761 and ARP4754, experience with\rmultiple life-cycle phases, a strong lean mentality, and a passion to build\rgreat products\rDegree in Safety and System Engineering with hands on experience is\rdesired.\r10 years relevant aerospace/space industry applicable experience is\rrequired.\rFamiliarity with the identification of necessary operational\rcontrols using Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis / Critical\rItems List products is highly desired.\rExperience in requirements\rformulation, assessment, and verification is desired. \rCritical thinking,\reffective communications, and problem solving skills are required. \rExcellent\rteam working skills prompt to initiative and very well organized.\rAdvanced\rLevel – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Vision and\rProject.\r.
