Jacobs provides field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.S. Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT. As a major test site for the U.S. Army Test and
Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts. In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization.
General cleaning of hangar, inside and outside, ramp areas, runway, taxiways, and POL facility.
Service all aircraft with proper fuel as needed, defuel aircraft as required if within capabilities, remove snow and sweep ramp, taxiways and runways as required.
Provide flight line transportation for personnel, baggage, and cargo between aircraft and operations. Operating vehicles, provide â€œfollow meâ€ service to arriving and departing aircraft including â€œVIPâ€ aircraft
General maintenance and care of equipment such as shop machinery, ground support equipment and related tools,
Receive, review and process all flight plans and request for aviation support.
Keep administrative files, prepare and process request and turn in documents,
Inventory control of all Airfield supplies and equipment. Assembles and prepares charts, graphs, and other briefing material.
Maintain current aviator reference reading files.
Maintains flight information on inbound and outbound flights and coordinates airfield services for transient aircraft.
Track statistical and reporting data of the airfield and flight activity.
Maintain current inspections and files of navigational aids, applicable flying regulations. Work closely with the airfield manager in the day to day operations of the airfield. In the absence of the POL handler will act in this capacity in refueling and hazardous waste responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
The incumbent may also be responsible for the following duties as well:
Perform range safety control functions to include range control operations, on-site inspections of test ranges, attendance at test scheduling meetings and pretest conferences, on-site coordination of test operation, investigation of range accidents/incidents, and provides technical guidance and advice to supervisors, test directors and test personnel.
Monitor, and at times, control all firing and range activities, to impose limitations on tests, considering proximity, compatibility of programs, or to immediately suspend operations if the safety of personnel is questionable.
Periodically check on-going tests and TTP events to ensure that range procedures are being followed in accordance with applicable regulations, memorandum, and standing operating procedures.
Recommend measures to correct deficiencies, eliminate hazards, and has the authority to immediately halt any questionable safety practices on range sites.
Be the primary contact for emergencies including aircraft in-flight emergencies (IFE), Chemical Accident/Incident Response and Assistance (CAIRA), and Biological Emergency Response and Assistance (BERA).
Coordinate with environmental personnel in their surveying of wildlife, water, and soil at DPG.
Schedule and monitor flight and ground activities of special use airspace and restricted area.
Verify, de-conflict, coordinate, and modify range schedules ensuring separation and safety of simultaneous air-to-air, airto-ground, and ground-to-ground activities on a daily basis.
Interface with multi-government agencies using on or off station assets.
Provide information and instructions to range users and monitor and control access to ground activities within restricted areas via the mobile ground radio system.
Monitor the progress and flight activity of air operations and provide safety control instructions using computerized radar systems and air and ground communications systems.
Be designated as the emergency response coordinator and direct installation search and rescue activities, disseminating information to military and government command authorities and local emergency response agencies.
Specialized training in air traffic control operations, knowledge of flight plans, meteorology, navigation, and otherinformation pertinent to airfield support.

Your ability to obtain and maintain the US Government security clearance or a favorable National Agency Check Inquiry(NACI) is necessary to perform the tasks of the position for which you are being employed. If you do not currently havethe appropriate security clearance of NACI, you will have ten (10) days to obtain an interim security clearance or afavorable NACI. Failure to receive an interim clearance within ten (10) days of the submission of your eQIP questionnaireto DSS will render this offer null and void, additionally, failure to obtain and maintain a final security clearance or NACI willresult in the termination of your employment.
Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates.
Needs to be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management.

Equipment and Machines:
Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.
Michael Army Airfield is open Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 9:00 pm, your shift will be determined upon hire.
Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings.
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others.
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.
Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required.
Travel to and from customerâ€™s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects.
This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary.
When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
This position will require a valid driver license to operate a variety of vehicles.
