The NISC III program within **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer with Air Traffic Control expertise for a wide variety of tasks withing the Central Service Area in Fort Worth TX.
Employee will use his/her Air Traffic Control background to complete the following tasks:
Ensure distribution of Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS) and General Notice (GENOTS) to affected field facilities.
Coordinate NOTAMS for Very Important Person movements within the Central Service Area.
Review document change proposals and complete technical analysis of proposed changes.
Assist in development and review of facility directives and Letters of Agreement, ensuring procedures comply with handbook requirements.
Review and provide guidance on airspace items (projects, inquiries, change publications, etc.).
Assist. research, and track field facilities and Headquarters air traffic requests for clarification and interpretation.
Track waiver requests in Service Area Action Tracking System (SAATS) and facilitate renewal requests in accordance with applicable FAA Orders.
Review emergency and contingency planning for service area and field facilities.
Assist with emergency operations within the Central Service Center Situation Room (SITROOM).
Support airspace improvement programs by participating in meetings, coordinating with air traffic facilities and their customers, providing air traffic expertise, developing scenarios for procedures researching historical data, providing solutions with justification & and monitoring and tracking progress.
Research and support Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Provide expertise to field facilities with unusual requests, e.g. aircraft call sign, air show coordination, laser show requests, beacon code allocation, balloons, skydive requests,fireworks, etc.
Research historical air traffic operationsand provide impact analysis of current constrained air traffic situations as required.
Research and provide information for congressional responses, high visibility projects, and ad hoc requests as required.
Support request for data, such as PDARS, on proposed changes.
Assist in the development of Certificates of Authorization for Unmanned Aerial Systems processing.
Support System Operations in the development of reports and special traffic management programs.
Review and provide air traffic expertise to environmental studies that are related to National Airspace System, in accordance with current environmental laws, requirements, and processes.
Provide airspace action reports as requested.
Coordinate and evaluate Standard Instrument Departure Procedures (SIDS).
Coordinate and evaluate Standard Terminal Arrivals (STARS).
Coordinate cancellation of Instrument Flight Procedures tied to discontinued VOR's and other air navigation aids.
Assist. research and track field facilities and Headquarters air traffic requests for decommissioning of federal and non-federal navigation aids.
Review charting packages, coordinate changes, and meet charting cycle timeliness.
Review and recommend changes to flight procedures as well as responding to inquires about published flight procedures.
Review and recommend changes to air traffic facility operational hours.
Provide Air Traffic expertise related to oceanic operations as required.
Assist, research, and coordinate commercial space issues/requests relating to air traffic operations.
Coordinate and evaluate Non-Rule Making (NRA) actions.
Provide air traffic expertise support to other service center groups in business cases/staff studies as requested.
Typical education and experience:
Typically requires BS and/or 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Significant experience with Air Traffic Control
Ability to research, analyze, and provide reports related to National Airspace.
Ability to coordinate and evaluate Standard Instrument Departure Procedures (SIDS) and Standard Terminal Arrivals (STARS).
Strongly prefer candidates with Air Traffic Control expertise working for/with the FAA.
