Will support both the Special Electronic Aircraft and Transport Aircraft Product Managers as a team member and leader of working groups to develop solutions for aircraft issues on the Army fixed wing fleet (King Air [200, 300, B300], Cessna Citation , DHC-7, DHC-8, Fairchild SA227, Gulfstream GIV). Must be able to communicate orally and in writing and brief at IPT/0-6 level/System Safety Working Group (SSWG) level. Skills are required to resolve FW air vehicle issues by identifying problems (qualitative and quantitative), identify suspected root causes and determine root cause, develop recommend courses of action and manage risk while overseeing implementation of resolution while acquiring information/data to substantiate airworthiness. Ability to be relentless in the pursuit of needed information, do not wait for it to be provided Travel is required and may be as high as 50%. Basic Qualifications BS/BA in Engineering from an ABET accredited school in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering. 8 years of experience. Position requires applicants to be knowledeable of: Aeromechanics/Flight Dynamics (Handling Qualities, Performance Charts, OML Drag calculations/specific excess power) Propulsion (Power plants, Propellers, Engine accessories) Structures (Fatigue & damage tolerance, Repairs, Modifications) Electrical Systems (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects [E3], Load Analysis) Size/Weight/Power (Aircraft Weight @ Balance calculations and forms and CG Burns/Thermal capacity usage. FAA or Army airworthiness processes. US Citizenship required.
