Grade: The Vice President Aviation provides executive leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the MGM Resorts International Corporate Aviation Department. The Vice President Aviation is a strategic partner to the President and serves as a knowledgeable advisor on a wide range of operational and aviation- related topics. This position fosters trusted relationships with top executives, employees, and customers involved with both flight and non-flight functions. The Vice President Aviation intimately understands the aviation industry as well as how aviation can partner to enhance the results of Casino Marketing and ultimately the core business. In addition, the Vice President Aviation institutes strategies that build and lead a sophisticated, performance driven culture, deploying enhanced employee engagement and team collaboration initiatives.Develops, plans, and implements departmental policies, procedures, and/or activities to ensure aviation operations run smoothly and maximize resources; engages in continued strategic examination of the department to build strong team collaboration and operational effectivenessEstablishes and maintains documentation and records as required by the Federal Aviation Administration and manufacturer(s), including maintenance and Company policyDevelops dynamic pricing strategies that capture variable costs and allocates fixed costs based on asset demandCollaborates with Casino Marketing team to provide dynamic pricing based on variable market conditions in order to drive incremental revenue to the CorporationDevelops aviation products based on historical customer patterns, as well as fleet and property demand that allow the aircraft to penetrate a broader customer base in order to drive brand loyaltyCreate aviation products that leverage demand, city pairs and market conditions. Collaborate with the Casino Marketing team to leverage these products to increase table games market shareExplore the development of aviation products that will drive improvements in market share and brand loyalty and revenue in non-gaming segmentAdvises management on the status and maintenance requirements of aircraft and other equipment, remaining consistent with corporate transportation requirements and goals; establishes criteria to ensure transparency of technical audits of aircraft maintenance and operationsEstablishes and implements appropriate processes and procedures for aircraft scheduling, including policies, forms and records for effective control and management of flight operations, while ensuring that these processes and procedures support key objectives within Casino MarketingAssumes responsibility for contractual obligations relevant to the Aviation department, including real property leases, amendments, agreements, permits, etc.; maintains and provides appropriate documentation to the Risk Management DepartmentPrepares and oversees the department’s annual operating budget to include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, personnel, and outside services; reviews and approves all internal billing and accounting procedures including vendor invoices, forwarding to senior management as appropriateImplements effective process improvements which reduce departmental costs while improving key quality and safety metrics within the departmentImplements core company policies as it relates to contracts and purchasing, as well as negotiates terms and pricing to ensure department efficiency while complying with company requirements and objectivesEnhances and promotes team morale through awareness and adherence to company policies, employee training and development opportunities, and the periodic exchange of ideas, goals and objectivesOther job related duties as requested\r
Education and/or Experience:Required:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and at least ten years of related experience or equivalent education and experienceATP, type-rating in company aircraft and proficiency in the English language10 years of senior leadership experience in an aviation organizationExperience developing and leading business strategies, with the ability to identify better operational efficiencies, resulting in significant improvement in overall performanceDirect, quantifiable experience in building and managing strong teams; proven success at building driven and dedicated team membersTrack record of inspired leadership and management; proven reputation based upon operational excellence and strategic and technical acumen\r
Preferred:Master’s DegreeExperience leading Six Sigma style process improvement initiativesP&L responsibility in highly regulated business environmentExperience implementing key financial initiatives leveraging assets8000 hours of total flight time, 1500 hours multi-engine jetPrevious experience working in a similar resort setting
