Avionics System Design Engineer:
The Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) is the Premier Vertical Lift military program in the world. Bell's FLRAA aircraft will become the Army's primary assault aircraft for the next 30 years, sunsetting UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and advancing the Army's assault capabilities. The FLRAA program is utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to expand the United States Army’s tactical advantage in future conflicts. The Bell FLRAA team seeks the top engineering talents from around the industry to design, develop, and deliver the world’s next-generation military aircraft.
The Avionics System Design Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, and testing components related to the control of air vehicle subsystems for the Avionics IPT on the FLRAA program.
Position Responsibilities:
Execute plans for system development and verification for air vehicle components.
Generate system functional requirements from stakeholder expectation.
Assist in development of architecture models and allocate requirements to sub-systems/hardware/software components.
Validate and verify system requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve system integration/verification issues.
Coordinate with Internal and External IPTs, suppliers, and peers to generate and execute project/design plans and reviews.
Develop and execute test cases and procedures to verify the system under test.
Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports, and change requests to closure.
Coordinate design changes and deliveries with Safety, Security, and Certification organizations.
Ensure timely delivery of systems requirements, integrated validation/verification activities, and issue resolution.
Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required. Mechanical or Other Engineering degrees may be considered with applicable experience.
Position Requirements:
Multiple levels of experience in developing, managing, or designing within an Avionics Environment will be considered with at least 2 years of experience.
Experience with DO-297, DO-178 and/or DO-331 process assurance experience is a plus
Prior experience working on A653 partition-based operating system is a plus
Experience with engineering processes, including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements validation, requirements verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, FAA/EASA/NAA certification, and system safety.
Able to communicate directly with senior leadership inside and outside the company.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in development, integration, validation, and verification of systems.
Version Control tool experience
Self-motivated and able to track and report performance to cost and schedule.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to obtain a U.S. D.O.D. Security Clearance required
