The Skunk Works is looking for world-class talent in mission systems engineering to join the 70 year tradition of creating advanced aircraft.
This position requires an Avionics system engineer to use their technical, program, and systems expertise to support the Hybrid Airship program. Preferred candidate will have experience with Avionics integration onto one or more platforms. Candidate will be involved in overall requirements development, integration design, laboratory checkout, and ground station/platform integration.
Candidate duties will include Avionics identification, functionality assessment, compatibility, source selection and platform integration. Candidate will support Subcontractor management as part of this position. The candidate will be expected to work with suppliers to develop and incorporate a cost effective solution to requirements.
Candidate will apply appropriate System Engineering Processes through all phases of a project. Candidate will lead requirements management, manage risk, maintain a technical baseline, support the defining and managing trade studies, support configuration management, support technical planning and strategy processes. Candidate will identify, quantify and track critical technical performance measures.
Candidate will lead Avionics integration in System Integration Laboratory environment as part of process. Candidate should anticipate a fast paced integrated product team environment and will be expected to support briefings to internal program management and customers regarding program technical content and status.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access
-Avionics integration on one or more platforms
-Subcontract Management Experience (Statement of Work (SOW) or Basis of Estimate (BOE) or supplier contracts)
-Bachelor degree in an Engineering or Technical Discipline
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Ability to work in an extremely dynamic environment
