Position Summary and Responsibilities
Teledyne Controls\u2019 has an exciting opportunity as a Avionic Technician in our Customer Repair Group located in El Segundo, CA. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting and repairing equipment used on aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations for Part 145 Repair Shop.  
Key Functions

Performs maintenance, preventative maintenance and modifications to avionics equipment IAW FAR Part 145 repair station regulations
Performs preliminary analyses, alignments, light to moderate troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronics at a level that meets or exceeds the expected productivity in accordance with the protocol and the FAA certified repair station requirements
Accurately troubleshooting faults in electronic circuits and mechanical systems using various types of test equipment e.g., Special Test Equipment \STE\, Automated Test Equipment \ATE\, data analyzers, microprocessors emulators, circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters
Perform repair rework using solder equipment to acceptable IPC J-STD specifications
Comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, ISO procedures, and Teledyne Controls policies and procedures
Inspects all assigned maintenance articles being worked and replacement materials for defects and proper identification


Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from two-year of accredited schooling in aviation electronics or related field; a minimum of three (3) years' of experience in aviation, airlines, military experience or related field;  or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mandate to participate in the FAA Anti-drug and alcohol testing pool in compliance with 49 CFR part 40 and 14 CFR part 120
Must be a US Person (ITAR/FAA requirements)
Must be able to troubleshoot to board level
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language (FAA requirement)
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
Must be able to read and interpret production illustrations (PI), component maintenance manual (CMM), and wiring diagrams and schematics


Recent IPC-A-610 Class 2 soldering a plus
Understand PAR 145 FAA regulations a plus

This is a covered position - FAA Safety sensitive position which requires new hires under this program to pass a pre-employment FAA Drug screening.  Employees under this program will be subject to random FAA Drug and Alcohol testing throughout their employment at Teledyne Controls.
