Day to Day:
Performs assignments to develop, apply and maintain quality requirements for processing components and other materials into finished goods and products. Under general supervision, designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting the quality level of products and equipment. Reviews supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure it contains the necessary criteria and provisions to permit effective inspection and testing of materials. Initiates corrective action for procedural, product or process deficiencies. Analyzes reports and returned products, determine root cause, recommends corrective action and preventative action. Analyzes rework and reduces cost of non-quality. Assist in quality training, auditing and revision updates to Quality Manuals, policies, and procedures.
What you will do:
Plan, and provide support for the company’s total quality management program.
Train site on RCCA/PA and 8D.
Assist with implementation of new quality initiatives and keep current existing quality programs and initiatives (i.e. ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) plant-wide.
Write procedures, specifications, and other technical documents.
Oversee the calibration lab and the procedures and policies and ensure the calibration department is in compliance with the FAA, FAR, ISO, customer and other agencies.
Perform internal and external vendor audits.
Generate quality related trend programs and reports.
Quality auditing of facility.
Process customer warranties.
Customer contact, i.e., warranty considerations, communications on repair/overhaul.
Visit customers related to repair process.
Assist in annual training requirements.
Review process travelers and honeycomb travelers.
Regular and punctual attendance.
Train others of lesser skills.
Follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.
What you need to succeed:
Good verbal and written communication skills. General department housekeeping. Ability to write and interpret technical data. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, Military Standards (inspection and quality), and ISO quality systems requirements. Ability to evaluate customer specifications (i.e. blueprints, warranties, etc.). Knowledge and use of inspection equipment. Computer literate. Prior leadership skills.
Minimum AA degree in Aviation Technology, or other applicable Certificate in ISO and Auditing Procedures. BS preferred.
Three years quality assurance-related experience in an aerospace environment; Two years directly related to quality auditing.
Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and/or work in-process documents.
Maintain production standards/quality.
Six Sigma Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred.
Prefer A&P or Repairman license
