Flight Attendant Jobs
A flight attendant is responsible for the safety and personal comfort of airline passengers. Responsibilities include checking passenger safety equipment and making sure that cabins are stocked with adequate supplies; greeting passengers on board; checking their tickets; directing them to their seats; helping them with their coats and small luggage; and demonstrating safety procedures. A flight attendant serve drinks, snacks, or precooked meals; distributes reading materials; and answers passengers' general queries or questions. During an emergency, a flight attendant is responsible for assisting passengers evacuate safely.
A flight attendant should be at least a high school graduate and aged nineteen years or older. A flight attendants must be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Good health, vision, hearing, and clear voice are important requirements for flight attendants. Many airlines require their crew to be proficient in appropriate foreign languages. Experience in dealing with the public is important since flight attendants must be able to interact comfortably with strangers and remain calm under duress.
