Aviation Mechanic Jobs
Aviation mechanics inspects all types of aircrafts or specialize in some types of aircrafts to identify damage or defects, and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards. They use checklists, hand tools, and test instruments for the purpose. Aviation mechanics inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, or repair of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems. They also conform to some principles in order to ensure adherence to standards and procedures. Aviation mechanics prepare and maintain detailed repair, inspection, investigation, and certification records and reports. They also recommend replacement, repair, or modification of aircraft equipment. Finally, Aviation mechanics try to start the aircraft, and observe gauges, meters, and other instruments to check for malfunctions. They also examine aircraft access plates and doors for security.
For becoming aviation mechanics, graduation and some technical experience in air transportation or air traffic control operations, aviation safety or aviation engineering is required. 18 months of work experience for an airframe, power plant, or aviation technicians certificate will be preferred.
