An airline pilot is responsible for flying an aircraft safely in and out of a runway. A captain is responsible for the safety of the aircraft and its occupants. Airline pilots command the crew, including co-pilots/ first officers and flight attendants. Pilot jobs are available in four sectors—business aviation or general aviation, passenger charter services, passenger scheduled services, and freight services, business aviation or general aviation. Business aviation or general aviation is the largest sector worldwide and includes, private aircraft, flying schools, and companies transporting oil and gas workers to offshore rigs.
An airline pilot should have an FAA certification. Other certifications depend on the type of aircraft assigned. An airline pilot must know the basics of mathematics, physics, and communication skills, and don’t necessarily require a degree in engineering. An airline pilot would require to have certain number of flying hours. They need to maintain certain medical standards that vary according to the license that the pilots hold.
